According to the news that appeared in the newspaper “Marítimas” dated April 12th, 2011, the World Trade Organization (WTO) estimates world trade will increase by 6.5% in 2011, more moderate than recorded in 2010 in which exports increase by 14.5%, the highest annual figure since 1950.
According to WTO the trade progression in 2010 was boosted by a recovery in production of 3.6%
Regarding 2011 the WTO warns of uncertainty of forecasts, reflecting the impact of recent events like the earthquake in Japan, and predicts a growth rate of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 3.1% to rates of exchange market.
