Temporary suspension of all activities of Maersk in Egypt

As per the news of "El Vigía" dated January 31st, 2011 the shipping and oil Danish company AP Moller-Maersk has announced the temporary cessation of its commercial and operational activities in Egypt, due to the revolt that affect the country.

The measure will cause the closure of the container terminal APM Terminal and will also affect the shipping company Maersk Line, the shipping company Safmarine and the logistics company Damco, all integrated into the group.

Despite general strike announced for the next Tuesday, the army has ensured that the maritime traffic trough the Suez Channel will remain opened.
